The Beavers and Cub Scouts of the 18th Ayrshire Scout Group have been busy collecting for the Ayrshire Foodbank.
Ralph & Fletcher a Beaver and Cub from the 18th Ayrshire Scout Group were keen to try and boost the foodbank collection after reading about Kay Bell, a kind-hearted Craigie resident who collects items from neighbours in her community to give to her local Foodbank. Each week she delivers the donated items to The Newton Wallacetown Church who give them to The Salvation Army, who in turn pass to Newton Primary School.
After hearing about what Kay does for her community Ralph and Fletcher learnt about foodbanks and why unfortunately foodbanks are needed in our communities. They then decided to spread the word amongst their Beaver & Cub groups and it’s safe to say they have gone above & beyond their expectations. These donations will make such a huge difference to a lot of families!
Lynne from Ayrshire Foodbank said ‘Wow!!! We are totally blown away by the Beavers and Cub Scouts generosity! Thank you all so much! It was quite overwhelming unpacking all the items….we felt so much love and kindness from you all! Many, many thanks, Ralph, Fletcher, Kay & Lynne’
