Ballantrae 2nd Ayrshire Burns supper

On Tuesday night we held our first burns supper for over 80 people from our communities and it was a huge success despite the snow. Scouts became the waiters for the evening serving up a choice of soups, followed by haggis neeps and tatties, cranachan or trifle with coffee and tablet to finish. Cameron did the address to the haggis while Zoe piped in the haggis , I did the toast to the lassies with Kirsten and Alisha replying to us laddies (in the weeks leading up to the burns supper we had worked in groups and wrote our own rhyming toasts ) , me and Iona played our bagpipes and Kayla did highland dancing. The Beavers and the Cubs sang Scottish songs. It was a great night and we have already been asked if we can do it again next year !
